BROADWAYYY!!

"Life's Incredible Again" by Michael Giacchino, Tim Simonec

No, I'm not talking about the pseudonym today... Not at all. So as you know I'm STILL behind on my posts.

image
Ok, I'm not THAT disorganized
It's just that I was up until 1:00 am. I didn't have Project Diva to give me the energy needed... So I slept. But yesterday I saw a BROADWAY show! YAY!! But before we get to that, I need to talk about my experience in the hotel and restaurant prior to the show.

So I woke up and Madre was all like "IGOTTAGOGETBREAKFASTWITHTHEBOARDMEMBERSTHERE'SFREEBREAKFASTINTHELOBBY!"

So I did. And the lobby was packed with people and their kids.

umm. where are the scrambled eggs?
No but seriously. Chill. You'll get your turn with the waffle mix eventually...

FINE FINE FINE! the waffles are yours...
But after participating in the Battle of Breakfast Bay, I ate some waffles and bananas and they were tasty.

After my mother was finished meeting with board members, we drove into the city. Then we got the tickets and met up with Psyche. Then we went to this Hyper Fancy restaurant to eat dinner.

Like half as classy as this.
Which is still completely over the top fancy! It was nice. Well, except for the fact that the restaurant lacked many vegetarian options. Psyche was able to get some veggie noodles though. However, the WAITER. My gosh THE WAITER was this prissy stuck up fancy French man!

May I take your order?
Umm sir, I don't think you intended to take my order anyways. He turned everything into a huge deal. When we asked for vegetarian options, he wasn't responsive. He also had a look on his face that said "The nerve of these people! Doing a special order at this ESTEEMED establishment!"

He was weird.

But then we went to see PIPPIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG IT WAS SO CRAY!!!!!!!

THE PLOT WAS EXCELLENT AND THE ACTING AND THE SINGING WERE ALL PERFECT AND THE ACROBATS AND THBEQFBVN JKSADFGHPUEFNASMKORHPOESFBIGTOPSDUI9PZGHT4JREKTHJCJUFIOPUFMUREFJASDUFPJEINTEM!

Sorry. But it was that good.

Then after the show... I ran into the legendary Singstress! And Madre and I drove her and her madre home. And we talked a lot and then I slept. So yah. there is my summary of yesterday.

Team building!

"If I Didn't Have You" by Billy Crystal, John Goodman

So yesterday I did team building exercises with my mom's nonprofit theatre group. Why, well the staff are getting trained for the summer program. There are gonna be a lot of kids and dealing with pre-teens and teens is a complicated business.

TEENZ AND PRE-TEENZ! YOU ARE DAFT!
Ha! I'm not going to BE a staff member! I'm just going to be an available resource. I'm too busy not being in town to trifle in the affairs of the summer childrens. In other words, I didn't need to be there for training, but decided to make it an educational experience personally.

THE POWER OF EDUCATION IS UNPARALLELED!
So I learned a lot about working with other people and making them feel important and about the two way street that is trust. I mean, I already knew about the power of teamwork, but it was fun learning skills that will definitely help me work with others in whatever I'm doing.

Which brings me to an interesting argument about the classes we learn in schools...

Why aren't there teamwork classes? We have our concrete courses, Math, English, Science, History, you know the works... But if there are people qualified in classes just teaching teamwork skills, why aren't there any in schools. I guess one could argue that Sports, Clubs, and Activities make up for the "teamwork" classes. But do they really? I mean, so much drama evolves around the ego's of the people in these clubs and activities. There are a lot of teams with self-centered members who can't see the bigger picture. That's not a bad thing, It's just how they function. Also this is America, so individuals all the way! I don't know... I just feel like if there were a class like the teamwork class I participated in yesterday in schools across the country, Americans wouldn't be competing with themselves as frequently as we do today... And progress would happen...

There is some food for thought for you... I'm seeing a show with Psyche today, so I'll let you know how that goes...

Awards day!

"Sweet Victory" by David Eisley & Bob Kulick

Victory was the theme of today. Why? SENIOR AWARDS DINNER! I won the award for the choral program. Which I wasn't expecting at all. So it was a nice surprise.

Sanswag and Critic both won speech awards for being awesome! They were very well deserved.

It was a dessert party, so I had ice cream and cotton candy, a classic carnival combo!

Kind of like this but separated.
It was fun watching people strut up to the podium to get their rewards.
This isn't an exaggeration
There was an envelope on my award. I opened it and I found a $250 check. O.O I wasn't expecting free money.

That's money!
So it will cover some college textbooks I assume! I like free money!

I didn't know how I was supposed to dress on the way there so when I got there and saw everyone dressed up, I literally put my dress pants and dress shoes on in the parking lot of the venue. It was worth it too, because I didn't look like a bum receiving my unexpected choral award.

And that's all I have to say about that. I know this post is short, but today wasn't super exciting. Sure, senior awards. but there weren't enough juicy details about the event. Jenny Craig was keeping track of how many of our super friends got awards. We collected 20 togethah. So I guess that's cool. See? No juicy details! Oh well... It is what it is I guess...

This is 4 yesterday.

"I'm Flying Away" by Stepper

Ok, I'm behind I know. Why? because yesterday was a TRAVEL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I flew with the Momster because this is my GRADUATION WEEK yodizzles! So what important events happened yesterday... Oh nothing much... Well... except for the fact that I GOT AN IPHONE 5 WITH AN ELEPHANT CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!

HOOORAAAY!
You see, there was this whole traveling fiasco a while back when I ended up getting my phone stolen. I was then stuck with my mom's elderly blackberry with duct tape on the back.
Wait, no touch screen?
So I had to use this mediocre thing and it was the worst mobile phone experience of my life. Web surfing was complicated, texting was hard, and to top it all off, the enter button of which I was under the impression was the ONLY enter button. broke. Rendering me completely incapable of using the phone even for basic function. (There was another enter button I could use, but I had no idea it was there, it wasn't my phone.)

SOOOOO as a graduation present the parents got me an IPHONE 5!!!! YAY!!! It feels so awesome to be capable of doing things again! I can surf the internet and .listen to my musics and get my apps and I FEEL LIKE THE LORD OF THE UNIVERSE!

INFINITE POWER.
It's amazing how much my generation relies on technology. Our Achilles Heel is our rectangles. If all the rectangles were to disappear, I bet society's whole infrastructure would fall apart...

We would all short circuit.
I'm just happy to have a smart phone again. And I'll never lose it again for the life of me!

Ok. So I went and saw a movie today.

"Signal in the Sky" by The Apples In Stereo

This is the PERFECT song. Why? Because I saw Supermovie today. (I got lazy with the title...)

So what did I think of the movie. Well, it was extremely well done action-wise. The fight scenes were MINDBLOWING. However, the plotline was too typical. But it was Superman. So it's not like they can change the plot for my convenience. But you know, it was the same old "Save the day get the girl". But at least it was extremely well done.

I begins with The Jesus I mean Superman being born on planet Krypton. Russell Crowe is all like "YAY! A JESUSBABY!" Why Jesus baby? The planet is dying and Superman is the only hope. (generic much?) Then Not Superman, who is not a super man, is all like, "Nooo. preserve the bloodlines! I'm the savior here!" But they still send The Jesus to earth.  Russell Crowe then attempts to sing "Bring Him Home" (You see, he wanted Valjean, so this was him trying to show he was capable of doing it the whole time. It also seems to fit here being that he sent his son away...) But just before a word leaves his mouth, Not Superman stabs him in the heart. That was probably the most heroic event in the whole damn movie.

So Superman crashes in the woods. Dora the Explorer finds him. Dora was on another berry hunt and she also happened to stumble across Wonder Woman. Pretty nice coincidence, coming across 2 baby superheroes on a berry hunt. So they both got tanned good under Dora's care because Dora is always going out in the sun all the time. They were known as the Super Babies!!
Super Babies!
I'M NOT KIDDING
Dora's parents couldn't afford the extra kids so they literally threw Superman and Wonder Woman to the streets, and they went their separate ways.

So Superman goes to Old McDonald's farm. So Old McDonald was all like "Boeh, Don'chew go 'round these parts actin' all wild'n'supa! You'll git'churself sood! Lyke Mr. Incredible!"

But he's Kung Fu Jesus. He can't help himself.

So he goes around doing miracles and everyone thinks he's Morgan Freeman but no, he's Kung Fu Jesus. He then gets stalked by a fangirl. Then Not Superman shows up all like "Where's The Jesus?!" Superman answers the call. It turns out that Not Superman is a racist and pretty much wipes out all of NYC to breed his race. Fangirl was also taken onto the ship. She is approached by Ninja Ghost Russell Crowe (How is his ghost a ninja? He makes shadow clones!) And then he tells her how to end Not Superman and his hurtful racism. Fangirl tells Superman, they end all racism. They get married. Superman gets a doctor... Professor Utonium. The Professor takes blood samples and examines them personally. He also runs tests on these samples... FOR SCIENCE. Professor Utonium does this to help Superman understand his abilities more. When the professor was trying to artificially create some daughters, he spilled one of these blood sample concoctions... CHEMICAL X into the mix. AND THUS THE POWERPUFF GIRLS WERE BORN!

So I guess Superman fathered the Powerpuff Girls. Which is funny because the song in the post was created specifically for them.

Mind blown yet? Wait, there's more. So the Powerpuffs save Townsville until they grow old and die. Then HIM takes over, and transforms into his true form. AKU. Townsville needs a new savior, and the Professor takes the reigns under the alias: SAMURAI JACK!

What. You don't believe me? Is all of this fictional baloney to you? Very well then...

Bam. The whole story is true.

It's time for your friendly neighborhood late night blog post!

"The Beat" by Sparky

I know what your thinking... WHY THIS SONG? And also HOW IS THIS GUY AWAKE AT 12:55 AM?!?

Well. The topic of my post is rhythm games.

Why are they so awesome?! No really! Tell me!

You see the reason why I am able to post this right now because I was just playing a demo of a rhythm game titled Project Diva. That is perhaps the best title for a rhythm game I have ever heard. Anyways, this rhythm game is CRAZZZZYYYYYYY. Where to start? Well all the singing is Japanese pop music. You know what that means... unpredictable rhythm changes. Japanese words tend to have more syllables. Also, every song has an EPIC music video to distract you while keeping the rhythm. Also, the notes just show up on the screen in random spots. It is very possible to miss a ton of notes if you haven't learned the rhythm of the song.

No really, the music videos are so awesome you are given the option to just watch them. For example. One of the songs has two Animeted girls in ninja masks have a dance off in the street. The then go on a wild car chase. And somehow end up in huge party room full of people. If you play well enough, the confetti balls open and terrorize your vision of the notes, and then two DRAGONS come out of the confetti balls and the Animeted girls ride them into the sunset.

While most music videos are like "lets have a house party and call it yolo", these are like "Let's do YOLO stuff. Like riding dragons."

You know I hated the game at first. I epic failed on the easiest level... On easy. Then I tried again and got better and better and better to the point where I could get a "great!" on the hardest level given: on normal!

Maybe that's why I like rhythm games. You can always improve with them. Also the music is pure fun to listen to and play along to. And when you get it, YOU GET IT. and it is the most beautiful thing in the world when you master a song.
beautiful

I would have posted yesterday...

But I spent two hours trying to find the right song for this post... Luckily I did. However, I wanted to sleep...

"Queens Are Never Wrong" by The Backyardigans

So my mom was the queen because it was her birthday. Well, no, not BECAUSE it was her birthday. She is always the queen. But she was even more so today because it was her birthday.
She does a pretty good job most of the time
You see, every year I would always forget when her birthday was coming up. But this time I actually got her something. Sure she reminded me the week of but hey, at least I remembered to get one! Dad usually goes out and gets EVERYTHING. Then I just play along "Yeah... that's from me..."
Don't you LOOOVE the present I GOT YOU?!?!?
But not this time! You want to know what I got her? I GOT HER THIIIIIIS!!!
ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL?
See, I got a triple home run because
A) I actually got her something
B) It wasn't a gift card
C) It was a CHOCOLATE BOUQUET. And yes. It looks just like the picture.

So when dad came home instead of having a plethora of balloons, he had one BIG balloon. Bean went crazy.
Oh no.
Then she would share her excitement with the rest of the world. LITERALLY.
Bean: RTYOYO!!
Me: Yes
Bean: THE BALLOON!!!
Me: Yes. It is big and pretty cool actually.
Bean: RTYOYO!!
Me: Yes Bean?
Bean: THE BALLOON!!!
Me: Yes, I think we can all agree that it is big.
Bean: RTYOYO!!
*silence*
Bean: (louder) RTYOYO!!
*silence*
Bean: (Sanity piercingly loud) RTYOYO!!!!!!
Me: ...Yes?
Bean: THE BALLOON!!!
Me:

You should go tell your sister about the balloon...
Bean: WHINEY!!
Me:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
That action, while it was evil, needed  to be taken for my sanity to stay intact.

Ok. so we already have a plethora of leftover sugary sweets from Whiney's birthday party. Now we have ice cream, hot chocolate, chocolate cake, the Reese's bouquet, and ice pops! Like, I am in heaven right now!
Happy Birthday indeed.
I have cavities to produce so goodbye for now!
