Today

"21st Century Life" by Sam Sparro

Today's orientation was much more awesome than initially expected.

First the LC group played this icebreaker game that required extreme short term memory.

Everyone was all like

SUPER PRECISION NAMES!
And then there's me.

You're name is Bethany in my imagination.
After that we had a dynamite rave! IT WAS LOUUUUUUD TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO TAAAALK IN AAALLL CAAPPPS! But it was hype yo.

Then we talked about nerd stuff.

Then this guy came and mind screwed us all.

No really.

He was better than Mr. T.

Not many can beat Mr. T at life.
And this guy did.

Then some lady came and literally stuffed the room with warm fuzzies.

EXACTLY LIKE THIS.
Then there was this open mic thingy.

I guess that was aiight.

I kind of want classes to start NOW. But that won't happen until NEXT WEEK.

I just got to wait this "orientation" thing out...

Yesterday

"Bout to Get Ugly-Amended Version" by Mark Ronson

So yesterday was Chapter One of my college experience.

And the first day was a pretty awesome one.

Or should I say the first night.

The whole "orientation" part was INCREDIBLY BORING.

First, they overwhelmed me with papers that I may or may not have needed.

I'm on a budget now
Yeah.

I try not to eat too much.

Because I have a great fear of running out of food.

So I'm like:

1/8 of a portion
That was totally off topic but it was infinitely more interesting than the book talk.

Never have a book talk with over 6 people.

This one had over 200.

And it was about that summer book that you either read in your imagination or 3 months ago over the course of 3 days.

I WAS

image
Like no. Just stop.
Then we all played this social bingo game that I TOTALLY WON. But some cretin made up the rule that you had to fill out the WHOLE CARD.

I honestly thought I won but they totally pulled the rug from under me.
But after that Black Adam, Peto, and I all went into the city. And had a supa cool time.

We saw Indiana and ate cheeses.

It was very... Quaint. I like quaint. It's a lovely word.

So let me tell you about yesterday

"Second, Minute or Hour" by Jack Penate

So yesterday I moved in.

It was a huge family process on everybody's part.

It was so smooth.

Like SLADE smooth!

And then our mothers left all teary eyed.

And it was just us.

Me and my fabulous roomies.

So one couldn't come in a last-minute-everything-literally-just-fell-apart sort of way.

The school doesn't even officially know he's not coming. Which is sad.

The other two are here however. And both of them are fabulous!

One of them crosses his arms and puts his legs together when he sleeps. (I notice these things.) So he will be called Black Adam.

Ok, he looks a lot less menacing than this.
Unfortunately I couldn't find the correct picture of Black Adam so you can see why that is my roomie's pseudonym.

Anyways. The neighboring roomie is from Puerto Rico. But I don't have a pseudonym for him yet. I need to recognize a trait that resonates.

I'm glad to have these guys in my room because they are both pretty reasonable people and have cool parents too.

So that is my opinion so far. I don't think there will be too much conflict because there are only 3 (soon to be four because the spot will probably be filled) people, AND We got the best room because we paid early.

I don't know if the assertion would be DRASTICALLY different with seven people... But less people definitely makes things easier.

So does a lot of space.

And individual mirror cabinets in for the 3 (probably going to be 4) of us.

I'm not as worried about the forth person not meshing because this 32nd floor dorm is so nice, I don't think they would send a problem child to the nicest dorm (KNOCK ON WOOOOOD)

Shopping. Way too much shopping.

"Belleville Rendez-Vous - Version Francaise" by M.

So after the wedding mother and I traveled to the grandmammies house.

And we went shopping.

For more stuff.

An incredible amount of more stuff.

And she had to explain the infinite uses of all of the things to me ONE by ONE and I was all like:

image
I gotcha. Can openers are used on cans.
Then she labeled EVERYTHING with my name.

I mean sure we spent a lot of money getting the stuff but c'mon...

This isn't Animal Planet.

I don't think we need to pee on our territory like lions do.

We're humans.

We use words...

Shopping with your grandmother can be quite a hassle sometimes.

After the first hour she's all like

She's old. Stamina isn't her strong suit.
But she got SO MUCH STUFF and it will all come in handy so I am forever grateful for that.

So that was yesterday.

SO THE WEDDING!

"Do Your Thing" by Basement Jaxx

OK. I KNOW I'M THREE POSTS BEHIND DON'T MAIM ME TOO BADLY OK? ok.

So two days ago I went to Obi-Wan's massive wedding extravaganza!

We missed the ceremony because

Omgstahp.
Like really cars?
Do you really hate us that much to make us miss the wedding part of the wedding?

Yessir! Yes I do!
Well we were there for the reception and I got to meet soooo many cool theatre people.
They all wished me luck and they all wanted me to stay in contact.

YOO I GOT CONNECTIONS!
Then I danced.
Everyone was like
image
Yes yes. Far off compliments from strangers!
Then we ate da cake and went home.

Obi-wan was SO HAPPY. (of course he was he was getting married) No but his smile lit up the WHOLE ROOM.

and it was awesome!

Welp. It's time.

"Dear Miami" by Roisin Murphy

AAAALLLL RIGHT.

I figured I might as well summarize my high school experience.

Frosh:
I remember the ice cream freshman orientation. It was pretty cool I guess. I was placed in Sanswag's group. The person showing us around was pretty cool.

THEN SHE MADE US RUN AROUND THE DAMN TRACK.

You can't just tell the freshman to run a quarter mile.

Ugh. Freshman.
But I was in a couple shows with her as she was a part of the drama club. So I guess it was forgivable...

I remember the pep rally. There was a dance contest. ONLY TWO FRESHMAN ENTERED.

I was one of those two.
So Boiler and I danced.

We lost to the seniors

But everyone thought it was rigged.

And I started to become viral. Everyone knew my face and I'm pretty hard to miss because I'm ridiculously tall.

Then I went through this awkward phase in which the miscreants seniors forced me to dance and rap for them during lunch. I didn't mind. I wasn't trying to "fit in" anyways. I'd already done exposed myself to the whole grade.

That lasted for like 2 months.

Was I knocking over bottles yet?

I'll save that for sophomore year.

I tried debate. For a week. Maniac's requirements were just TOO MUCH. Then Critic introduced me to speech. Cleft the Boy Chin Wonder was still coaching. Great guy. Not so great coach.

I did WILL SMITH as OI poetry.

WILL. SMITH.

DEAR GOD WHAT WAS I THINKING?!

I started stalking Garbear.

Softie:
This was the year that Bucky and Broadway showed up.

They are so cool.

I did the Wizard of Oz with Crazy summer prior.
And this was the year when I did an out of school production of Hairspray.

I was Seaweed.

And everybody really saw my ability as a performer then.
GOD that was fun. I was with Broadway Sr. She was wonderful. Psyche was wonderful. The Magic Singing Ginger was wonderful. Critic was wonderful.

God I loved that show.

Too bad my voice was not in great shape on the final night. (Of course that's when they recorded too -_-)

But opening night was just FABULOUS.

I began my best speech category, Duo, with Garbear.
We did Spongebob.
And We would have been a hit if I didn't have so many rehearsals. (I was in two casts see?)

At lunch, I knocked over everyone's water bottles for no reason.
Everyone got so pissed about it too.
They tried ignoring it.
They tried scolding.
But I was one stubborn cookie! >:)

OH YEAH. I created my own religion. You had worship a magic cherry tree or something...

I also told EPIC stories to Broadway. About Oichi! and caves and whatever came to mind. Just like in middle school with Slim Jim.

And Wasome started up an acapella group too... Singchronized! And we built buttercups and what not.

Then there was Acafellas. The less cool male acapella chorus. The songs were too slow.

I ALSO LED AND IMPROV TEAM.

We only competed once.
I pretty much gathered the coolest people I knew and created a Justice League of Improv.

Awesome doesn't even BEGIN to describe that experience.

Maniac was the coach for like a week.

THEN THE SPOZCAKE ARRIVED IN A FLASH OF LIGHTNING.

And we became awesome interpers.

Junyah

This was the year of my second and HUGELY successful duo with Sanswag.

MAN our team was SO GOOOOD. We were introduced to tuna and I did Peanut Buttahprod summer prior.

And I fell asleep in a Sarcophagus.

Critic still doesn't believe me.

Which is reasonable.

But I had a dance party in there and tired myself out. So I laid my head on the top corner and next thing you know...

That was my favorite straight play that the Starboard Stars did.

Singchronized did more awesome stuff.

AND FINALLY MACHO-YEAR

I gave Woosh Woman all sorts of near death experiences.

Critic and Sanswag beat the video game of Forensics.

I beat the game of Song.

Sanswag and I WERE CAPTAINS of the speech ship.

I honestly put my all into helping the youngins as best I could when I could.
And the help they received from the seniorities got a few of them to states!

And I met Koreawoman and Dr. Turkey Fist. (FINALLY, SOMEONE WHO KNEW MARVEL!)

And I did WISE with Obi-wan and Sponzcake. That was probably the coolest thing I ever did in high school...

Wow. All of those experiences. All of those people.

And here I am, about to do another Four Year Education cycle with a completely new set of people. Who I'll LIVE with.

And I'll have voting rights this time.

I'm so happy to have been a Sailor. And I wouldn't have done a thing differently if given the chance. So I guess this is a shout-out to the Sailors. You won't be forgotten and you sure haven't seen the last of me! You've seen the last of daily me... But I'll definitely visit from my not-so-far-away-college-paradise!

OK. THIS IS IT.

"Faster" by Janelle Monae

Wow.

I'm leaving already?

image
Tis true!
OK.

I finally completed packing.

Sure it took a lot of this

The result if I didn't fold.
So here is the agenda.

First I fly to a WEDDING

Who?

None other than Obi-wan (he sponsored me for WISE. He's also kind of awesome)

Day after that I head along to Gran-grans. (I was to purchase all the cooking supplies for my room. And Gran-gran took care of EVERYTHING. I can't be more thankful.)

Day after that. I move in. And I SWEAR THIS DAY WILL BE RUINED IF I AM RENDERED UNABLE TO VIEW BREAKING BAD.

Ok, it won't...

But still...

It would be better to see it on time.

OMG I'M SUCH A JUNKIE FOR THAT SHOW.
I didn't do much today but pack.

My next post today will serve as an official goodbye to my high school readers.
